Kathy is from Raton, New Mexico a small town that borders southeastern Colorado. She is a first generation college student and attended Eastern New Mexico University for her undergraduate degree in communications. Through here involvement in student activities and some great advisors and mentors she realized that she could earn an advanced degree that would afford her the opportunity to work with college students on a fulltime basis. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Counseling-Student personnel from Northern Arizona University. Had some great professional stops along the way including the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned her doctorate in Education Policy and Leadership-Higher Education. Currently, Kathy serves as the director for the Women and Gender Advocacy Center and teaches the Inclusive University course.
